KittyKitty Quest Continues; K2 Consults Frog Over Coffee

Before we resume KittyKitty's story — thanks Dora for following my blog!
On her way to Zen Cat, KittyKitty stopped to talk to Frog. It was raining, after all, and who better to talk to? Well, maybe Duck, but she is nowhere to be found. Frog seemed to have this wet stuff figured out. Advice was sought, over a cup of coffee of course. K2 asked Frog where she might get a festive frog skin coat like his; it was red and blue! Frog was not amused. “Grow one!” …and, naturally, Frog hopped away.
Here is another version of KittyKitty Meets Toy Pony For Tea. I laid it out when I was looking at the still life, but developed it without looking. I was having fun developing a sort of sculpted look to the flower on the teapot. The graphite drawings I "labor" over, that is to say they take awhile. With the small, colored KittyKitty studies, I'm working faster, trying to get the expression down quickly.
Thanks! And, I hope you enjoy the story.

Peggy, you have been so busy during my absence. I really missed visiting your blog to see what you are doing now. I love the Ms. Kitty stories and the fact that she met up with Toy Pony. I also took the time to check out the work of your father; such a joy to visit his beautiful artwork and see that “genes will out.” You love of art and shape certainly were influenced by your artist father.
The name, Ms. Kitty, has special meaning to me. For a number of years, my neighbor and I have maintained a family of stray kittens grown old that my late husband befriended in 1994. He had them neutered and attempted to befriend them. For the most part all of them chose to remain outside, but the runt of the litter, lovingly named Ms. Kitty, chose to be pampered and petted in our home. After Gary’s passing in 1998, Ms. Kitty provided much comfort during lonely nights. When I remodeled the house, she abruptly moved outside with her family, never to be enticed inside again. She lived to the age of 15, a long time for an outdoor cat. She had that wonderful haughty look that you capture on your Ms. Kitty.
Hi Mary! Thank you for sharing your story! It’s wonderful. It’s interesting how some cats are so special; they can be amazing companions.
I missed seeing you on your blog, but it sounds like you have been BUSY — with the workshop and the show. You’re generous with your time, energy and talent!
