Blog Theme Designs
Thanks to the work of my husband, Robert, I have custom themes for my blog. Robert designs my themes and includes details from my paintings. I am delighted with the results and I hope you enjoy them. Periodically, the theme will change...just wait and see! Scroll to the bottom of the page to see what painting is featured in the theme.
Additional Websites
Another thanks to my husband Robert; I have two other websites: festiveabstracts.com (new paintings) and stermer-cox.com (gallery and events). Please stop by.

"Autumn Wind" was done using one of the designs I drew on our recent trip down to Oregon. Toward the end of our trip, the winds picked up and with the winds came fire. When we were at Diamond Lake, up in the Cascades near Crater Lake, we could see a large forest fire over the ridge line. The trees at Diamond Lake were turning yellow and butterflies were everywhere. I wanted to express the feeling of the warm winds as they moved through the trees and the threat of fire that followed. I included one butterfly; like the leaves and trees, it too was vulnerable to the autumn wind and fire.

You certainly captured the feeling of your story. I enjoyed both of them. Great energy and colors. Nice work!
Eva
Wow, what a wonderful painting. Surprisingly small. It has a “big” feel to it.
Hi Eva and Myrna, I wanted to portray "energy" so I'm glad you see it, Eva. I was successful, Myrna, if it feels "big" to you. Perhaps the loose, energetic lines helped me achieve the expression. Thanks!
