11th Hour, 11th Day Remembered
I did this painting while thinking of stories about family who served during World War I on Armistice/Veterans Day.. I thought of the gray battle field memorial near Verdun in France that I visited a few years ago….I thought of those who have served past and those who serve now….
Thank you.

Hi
Your impression is a great way to captivate Remembrance Day. Congratulations.
Cheers
Kaylene
Peggy, wow, something totally different, and at the same time, very much yours. I like it. Thanks for honoring our veterans with your work. Holly
it’s captivating. A very nice tribute to those who have served their country.
Very powerful. I love it. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Peggy, when I first saw this, before reading your description, I thought of the Twin Towers. Perhaps not too removed from your intent – liberty threatened. A very strong piece of work and such a fitting tribute to those who have served or are serving our country now. I like the lines, your pallette, and the repetitious angles.
Thank you Kaylene, Holly, Rachel, Sharon and Mary! I appreciate the comments and compliments. Every once in a while, an imagine emerges from some part in my brain that I don’t usually reach. This piece is one. Mary, I think I was thinking of the sadness and tragedy of war; the Twin Towers fits.
An inspirational painting! Thank you for the remembrance.
Thank you Kathy; and thank you for following my blog!
That’s a very successful painting, Peggy!
Merveilleux hommage à tous ceux qui ne sont pas revenus…

I can understand…!
From Mabs in Le Chateau with victims of the flu as well as wound lying on those wide wide stair steps to a northwest beach = the emotion and remembrance continues it is a wonder that humans can be deeply compassionate and also have the warrior impulses
Hi Mom! Thank you for posting a comment! For blog buddies, Mom’s mom, also known as Mabs, was an Army Nurse in WWI, serving in France. She knew first hand the cost of war….in ways I can barely imagine.
