248/365: MsKitty Goes Dutch

These drawings were done using some of my objects.  I like the "Dutch" theme.   MsKitty would probably enjoy the smell of the dirt or the shoes….enjoy!

230/365: MsKitty, Shells, and Caps

Just some favorites…I think I have many favorites.  MsKitty and the broken shell are done in sepia watercolor over graphite.  The drawings below are done with a ball point pen.

So, what are some of your favorite things to draw and why?  Do any of them become sort of personal or autobiographical?

Enjoy and thank you!

228: Candles and Candle-less

Still playing with the idea of flames and candles as part of Creative Every Day's theme of "fire".  In two of today's drawings, I have a candlestick(s) with the no candles; and in the other, candlestick with no flame.  The small object upfront in the sepia study is a Swedish candlestick I have.  Why no flame or candles?  Perhaps by their absence, the candle or flame become noticeable.  Or, and more likely, I'm out of candles…Swedish or Norwegian candles anyone?

227: Another Look at Clogs

Just a simple posting today…oh they mostly are anyway!   MsKitty has much to examine, what with clogs and tulips around…sort of a Dutch theme here.

I am getting a ton of self-education out of these brush drawings!  Off to go do some more.

226: MsK Checks Out “Klompen” and “Geta”

"Klompen" are traditional Dutch wooden clogs; "Geta" are traditional Japanese wooden thong sandals.  And, MsKitty checked out a micro miniature pair of each.  The shoes are in honor of the Every Day Matters (EDM) challenge #1: draw a shoe.  I'm sort of stuck having fun drawing different shoes.

And, she's (MsKitty) still wandering around the Norwegian glass candle holder ("lysestake"), theme of "Creative Every Day" for August.  Sort of an eclectic mix of knick-knacks to see and draw.   Today is a day of multiples:  multiple shoes, challenges, drawings, languages….sort of a trend here!
